Melody Zimmerman
Melody Zimmerman is the Policy and External Affairs Manager for the United Way of PA. She has worked in the financial empowerment and legislative affairs space for more than a decade, specializing in housing, income support, and community economic development.
Melody started her career as the Federal Policy Associate for Prosperity NOW (formerly CFED) in 2010 working on asset building legislation including SSI asset limit reform, automatic IRA, and federal funding for IDAs. Since then, she has provided policy and advocacy efforts for several organizations, including for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, the South Carolina and Pennsylvania General Assemblies, and Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors and the National Housing Resource Center.
When not working, you can find Melody in cafes reading old books or hiking trails in nature, or spending time with her family.
Melody graduated from the University of South Carolina – Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and completed graduate coursework from Johns Hopkins University towards a Master of Arts in Public Management.
