United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) is on a mission to end poverty and expand opportunity for all by investing in Early Learning, Career Pathways, Financial Empowerment, and Community Resiliency.
Our Programs
FREE tax preparation and financial counseling services are available to low-and moderate-income taxpayers. Since the start of UWGPSNJ’s VITA program, 410,956 returns have been filed, ensuring working individuals and families receive the full refund they are entitled to, helping pay bills, cover childcare expenses, and save for the future. Thanks to VITA volunteers, more than $484 million has been returned to the taxpayers in the region since the program’s start, helping build more sustainable futures not just for these families themselves, but also for the communities where they live.
Individuals and families can build wealth and achieve lifelong economic stability. By starting a UWGPSNJ-supported Matched Savings Program, individuals can build their assets through match savings for emergencies, homeownership, and small business expansion.
