UWP to Help Manage 33-County Grant
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, United Way of Pennsylvania will serve as fiscal agent for two grants designed to prevent and alleviate homelessness in 33 PA counties. UWP will help the Eastern PA Continuum of Care (COC) manage funding from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh. This includes a 2020 Home4Good allocation and Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement Fund (PHARE) Home2020 funds. In total, $647,624 will be disbursed across 33 counties to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically to support activities related to homelessness prevention and emergency sheltering needs, including the cost of non-congregate emergency sheltering in hotels.
