United Way of Pennsylvania Joins Housing Action Plan Roundtable
On January 30, 2025, Kim Amsler and Melody Zimmerman joined housing advocates, state officials, and community leaders at the Pennsylvania Capitol Building to discuss solutions to the state’s growing housing challenges. As part of the Housing Action Plan Roundtable, their participation reflected UWP’s dedication to ensuring that housing policies and programs directly benefit Pennsylvania families, seniors, and individuals in need.
For many Pennsylvanians, access to safe and affordable housing and communities are the foundation of financial security, health, and well-being. The discussions at the roundtable were not just about policy—they were about real people facing rising housing costs, families navigating emergency assistance, and communities striving for sustainable solutions.
United Way of Pennsylvania, through the PA 211 resource network, plays a critical role in connecting residents to housing supports, eviction prevention programs, and emergency rental assistance. By collaborating with state and local partners, UWP helps ensure that vulnerable Pennsylvanians don’t just receive services—they receive real opportunities for stability and success.
The roundtable brought together government leaders, nonprofit organizations, housing advocates, and community representatives, all united by a common goal: to create a housing plan that is both ambitious and achievable. UWP values the partnerships forged in these discussions, recognizing that lasting solutions require the expertise, resources, and dedication of many.
“The power of this conversation lies in the collective impact of the people in the room,” said Kim Amsler. “Collaboration is the key to transforming housing access across Pennsylvania, and we are grateful to work alongside such dedicated partners.”
With the Pennsylvania Housing Action Plan set to be finalized by September 2025, the work ahead will require continued partnership, innovation, and community-driven solutions. United Way of Pennsylvania remains committed to working with housing and community development leaders across the state to turn these discussions into real, impactful change for the people who need it most.
