Reflecting on 2024 and Looking Ahead to 2025: United Way of Pennsylvania and PA 211
As we turn the page to 2025, United Way of Pennsylvania and PA 211 take this moment to reflect on the past year with gratitude and pride—and to look ahead with optimism and renewed commitment to our mission of supporting individuals and families across the Commonwealth.
Looking Back on 2024: A Year of Impact and Collaboration
2024 was a year of resilience, collaboration, and progress. Together with our community partners, donors, and supporters, we made strides toward creating a stronger, more equitable Pennsylvania. Through initiatives like our work on broadband access and digital equity, we brought critical resources closer to those who need them most, ensuring that every Pennsylvanian has the tools to succeed in the digital age.
PA 211 continued to serve as a lifeline for individuals and families in need, connecting Pennsylvanians to essential resources like housing, food, transportation, and mental health services. This year, PA 211 assisted thousands of people through innovative programs and emergency responses across the state.
We also celebrated meaningful milestones in 2024, including expanding partnerships through the HUD, PHARE, and Home4Good grants, supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. And during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, we were reminded of the power of collective action to address urgent issues in our communities. We continue to work closely with Start Strong PA to support healthy child development, working families and the economy so all Pennsylvanians can thrive.
Building Momentum for 2025
As we look to 2025, we do so with a sense of purpose and momentum. United Way of Pennsylvania will continue its focus on key priorities, including supporting the local United Way network, advancing equitable access to resources, fostering community partnerships, and advocating for systemic change that benefits every Pennsylvanian.
PA 211 will continue to innovate and expand its services, ensuring that everyone across the Commonwealth has access to trusted, accurate information and support when they need it most. We are excited to deepen our role as a key partner in Pennsylvania’s Digital Equity Plan, empowering more communities through broadband access and digital literacy. And we look forward to continuing to strengthen and grow our work with PEMA and DHS to ensure the health and safety of all Pennsylvanians throughout the year. And we value our growing partnerships with healthcare providers across the state which allows us to serve more individuals and families across the Commonwealth.
We also look forward to expanding our network of housing and social service partnerships, amplifying our impact in addressing critical issues like affordable housing, transportation, and hunger.
