UWP receives $604,000 to support the Housing Problem Solving Initiative in partnership with the Eastern PA CoC to improve housing stability
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh (FHLBank), in collaboration with housing finance agencies in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, has announced the allocation of $8.447 million in Home4Good grants to combat homelessness across the three states. United Way of Pennsylvania’s application for the “Housing Problem Solving Initiative”, which was approved for $604,000, will be implemented through the Eastern PA CoC’s Coordinated Entry System, specifically, through the Coordinated Entry Call Center (PA 211), through Coordinated Entry Access Sites (31 sites across the Eastern PA CoC), and emergency service providers (which include emergency shelters, street outreach, and homelessness prevention providers).
The CoC piloted this work utilizing the 2022 Home4Good funding. The Eastern Pennsylvania Continuum of Care (CoC) covers 33 counties in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. For more information about Home4Good and the specific programs funded, visit FHLBank Pittsburgh’s website.
