United Way of Pennsylvania Thanks Verizon for Supporting Digital Equity Initiatives

United Way of Pennsylvania (UWP) extends its gratitude to Verizon for their generous $50,000 grant, which will significantly enhance our efforts to promote digital equity across the state. This funding is crucial as we work to ensure that all Pennsylvanians can access the expanding broadband infrastructure, particularly in underserved communities.

As Pennsylvania’s Broadband Development Authority begins deploying federal funds to build essential broadband infrastructure, UWP is committed to making this resource accessible to everyone, particularly low-income households. One of our primary goals is to create a publicly searchable repository of digital equity and literacy programs, addressing the current lack of resources available to individuals seeking assistance.

UWP and PA 211 will work together to connect community members with vital resources and services. This collaboration will draw upon our established relationships with digital equity advocates and statewide organizations to build a comprehensive suite of resources that benefit communities across Pennsylvania.

Verizon’s support enables UWP to develop the Connect-PA Digital Equity Resource Hub, which will facilitate training and outreach for community partners. We are excited to gather these resources, collaborate with partners, and ensure long-term sustainability for this initiative.

Thank you, Verizon, for your commitment to building a more equitable future for all communities in Pennsylvania. Together, we can bridge the digital divide and ensure that every resident can access the opportunities that come with reliable broadband access.
