Child Care Directors: Start Strong PA Wants Your Feedback!
Start Strong PA is looking for child care program owners or directors to help tell the story of Pennsylvania’s on-going child care crisis. They are collecting information from child care providers on the staffing crisis through a brief four-minute survey. Please pass this on to your community partners!
The child care sector was in crisis before the COVID-19 pandemic, with families unable to find and afford quality care, poverty-level wages for early childhood educators, and razor-thin margins for providers. The pandemic has pushed the child care sector to the brink of collapse.
While previous federal support helped some providers avoid closing their doors, we know child care programs are still in desperate need of more funding. The information collected through the survey will be used to demonstrate the urgent need for increased child care funding in the 2022-2023 state budget and to urge our congressional delegation to support long-term, substantial investments in the early care and education sector to strengthen and secure the industry. Directors and owners that complete the survey by Thursday, March 31, 2022 will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card. Two gift cards will be awarded.
